Wondering what all the hoopla is about? Allow us to explain… Open Streets PGH is getting underway this weekend. It’s a truly awesome event aimed at making Pittsburgh a healthier, happier place to live by transforming 3.5 miles of roads into a car-free, city-wide playground spanning from Lawrenceville to Market Square.
So, as you can imagine, this is a dream come true for everyone here at Fittsburgh. Plus we figured all of you would probably be into it, too. So we called up some of our health and fitness loving friends and put our heads together. The result is pretty awesome, we think. It’s a little something we’re calling Run the Open Streets and Yoga in the Square.
Here’s the Plan!
At 8:00 a.m. the Steel City Road Runners will depart on a training run from Market square, Downtown. There will be 2, 4 and 6 mile route options for runners of all ages and abilities.
Then, at 10:00 a.m., stick around and roll out your mat for Yoga in the Square. Yep, we’re back with our friends at Lululemon and the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership for another summer of outdoor yoga in the square. And this class just happens to coincide with Open Streets.
