The city of Pittsburgh is the big winner as we host the NCAA tournaments.  Visit Pittsburgh is predicting $7.1 million will come into the region with the hotel bookings, dining costs, and ticket sales from the over 18,000 basketball fans.  Duquesne, as the host school, is also a winner with the increased visibility and a nice honorarium of $200,000. This is the third time Duquesne has hosted the event.  Hosting the tournament is priceless promotion for the city with a reputation as a sports town.  Pittsburgh will be prominently featured during the games with glowing shots of the city, its bridges and waterways, and its breathtaking skyline.  We are Pittsburgh PROUD at Consumer $ense!
