During the holidays, one of the big questions that everyone has is who should I tip and how much should I be tipping them? Follow these simple rules and you’ll get through all of the tipping this holiday season!

  1. How do you know who to tip? You tip anyone that provides a regular service throughout the year.
  2. What is the general rule for tipping? Typically, you would tip the person the cost of one service. So if the person in question cleans your house, you tip them the cost of one cleaning.
  3. Easy references for tipping: mail carrier- up to a 20 dollar non-cash tip, hairdresser/manicurist- 25 dollars or more, teacher- 25 to 100 dollars in gift certificates, coaches/tutors/teachers- a small, non-cash gift, babysitter- one night’s pay, garbage collector- 15 to 30 dollars each.

Be sure to spread the holiday cheer to everyone who makes your year run smoothly!
