About

Dr. Audrey Guskey

My Story

I developed a passion for marketing and a connection with consumers in my youth. Chosen to represent my high school on Gimbels Teen Board in the seventies, I modeled, served as a sales associate, and hosted special events. This led me to pursue degrees in marketing, completing the doctoral program at the University of Pittsburgh, which ranked third in the country for marketing.

Cultivating my teaching career at Duquesne University, a Catholic college in the heart of Pittsburgh, I have instilled in thousands of students, the knowledge of marketing, as well as helped shape the minds and spirits of young business professionals.

Always interested in helping others, I explored consumer altruism and market helpfulness in my dissertation research, which investigated how consumers help fellow consumers and service providers. This research gathered over a thousand stories of how consumers helped themselves to better service. The results are in my upcoming book Itching for Better Service? HELP YOURSELF!
